Oh Dan Mangan, you are adorable.

Basket - Dan Mangan
I listened to this song a lot when my Grandpa passed away this summer, just a couple weeks after I had gone to the Philippines and seen him for the first time in 10 years. It just got me thinking about the events of this past year, of the friends made, and of the many memories to be cherished. Here’s to the year that was 2011.
Tragic Turn of Events / Move Pen Move - Dan Mangan and Shane Koyczan
Two amazing artists. One amazing song. I won’t be ashamed and say that I just tried to hold back my tears but heck, this song is just a bit too relevant for right now. As much as I’m trying to celebrate his life, I’m still sad.
Basket - Dan Mangan
I wish I could be at Stanley Park right now as Dan Mangan is about to take the Summer Live stage. Alas, family comes before all else and this song makes everything feel just fine.
Oh Fortune - Dan Mangan
New Dan Mangan music!
So I went to SMORGASBORD on Sat night, which was a fundraiser for endhomelessnessnow.ca and it was a truly amazing night of music [The Crackling, Aidan Knight, Dan Mangan, and Veda Hille], comedy [Charles Demers, author of Vancouver Special], slam poetry [Mike McGee, honorary Canadian!], and speeches. It was lovely to see so many people come together for a good cause, and highlights of my night included Aidan Knight’s lovely arrangement of Jasper echoing through the church hall [with a standing ovation too!] as well as meeting Mayor Gregor Robertson [and his tuba!], Dan Mangan, and Aidan Knight. The live Twitter wall provided many laughs, as did Dan’s adorable emcee job. Thanks to all the performers and organizers for this incredible event - such a good way to spend a Saturday night :)
