One thing I’ve noticed about working in a small town: people spend way too much money on their gardens and lawns. Honestly, anyone working in landscaping must make a killing. I hear neighbours have joking arguments about how the Joneses next door can try as they might but will never catch up to the quality of their garden.
It makes me think about owning a house; there is so much upkeep!...

Happy Canada Day
A strange thing I noticed walking home today: the fireworks in Aurora were fantastic, but also looked and sounded like hell was raining down upon the town park. It made me think about how similar the fireworks must have sounded compared to artillery and gunfire, and how this quiet town would never experience anything like that.
On a more positive note, small towns + major holidays = big...
